The spectacular Life Immersion Video Chapel and 6-foot tall Life Remembrance Displays we offer are just two of our special differences. Loved one a wonderful experience. First, my family was not local to VA and when our uncle passed we had no one to direct us.
Thank you for working with us to create the perfect send off for our loved one. Your value to us was priceless and really helped to make an already stressful and emotional time in our lives less so. There is tremendous price variation among funeral homes for identical caskets.

He and the office manager were a delight to work with during such a difficult time. They made everything happen that we requested for and the entire process was seamless. While not hoping to have to use their services soon, the next time we have a death in VA, we will be using them.
Reviews for Cunningham Turch Funeral Home
From the first interview to the last prayer card Cunningham’s is excellent. Naples, FL, and as his only next of kin, I reside in Northern Virginia. Gary was getting ready to pick up the casket at Reagan National Airport on Friday, March 19th. I called on Thursday, March 18th. I wanted to be able to do something to honor my Dad appropriately.
This is the fee for the embalming process. Embalming is generally not required if proper refrigeration is available. This is the fee for the funeral home to come pick up your loved one and bring him/her to the funeral home for preparation. Time in my life, Brenda was able to make me laugh. Again, thank you all soooo much.
a Traditional Service
The funeral home is quite nice inside, compared to any other funeral home I have been to in the past. Our funeral director, Jae, did an amazing job coordinating the arrangements for visitation and with Quantico National Cemetery, where my father was buried. In addition, their prices were quite a bit lower than the other funeral homes in the area. In every manner our expectations were greatly exceeded. When we went in to discuss details the lady we went was not accommodating and rude. Gary Maxwell, the funeral director for Cunningham Turch happened to witness all this and while he started off by trying to assist the other company, we ended up switching our needs and using his.
A burial vault is required for most cemeteries, but you may choose to purchase one online or elsewhere, if you'd wish. He is very professional yet very compassionate about his job. He made the whole process so much easier to deal with. My family has been dealing with Cunningham's for many years and now I understand why.
Have a question about Cunningham Turch Funeral Home?
When I went to the funeral home on Monday to pick up the death certificates and my husband's ashes, I encountered a grieving family, there to make the necessary funeral arrangements. Told them about my experience and that they had made an excellent decision in choosing Cunningham. In hearing that, I'm sure they were a little bit less apprehensive about what they were about to experience themselves. Of this year we were told that my 95 year old father-in-law was nearing his final months of life. I then began our search for a funeral home. In addition, Cunningham Turch really understands the needs of a military family.

The estimate he gave me on the day we first spoke was $100 different from the final bill after I made many changes to the arrangements. I never felt like I was being "up-sold". At every step of the way and still today, I was grieving. Cunningham Turch was and is aware of that and very warmly and thoughtfully guided me through an event that, just a short time ago, would have been unthinkable. Referred by the NOVA Burial and Cremation Society to Cunningham Turch in Alexandria.
In our lowest moments, Gary and the team were Heaven sent. They went over and above, all the way to assisting with necessary documents required by two different embassies. Even after the service, Gary still helped with whatever was required to repatriate my Aunt's remains. I should not forget to mention how great they were with my children.
From oversees and through the procedure to get him buried at Arlington. She was attentive and responsive, answering every question promptly any time, including weekends. And taking care of my every concern. She even answered the questions I thought were dumb, always in a professional manner. She took good care of me and my family.
Gary was a pleasure to work with. Video services were exceptional. My guests commented on the quality of the service and staff. Families or congregations will not be billed earlier than 30 days after the burial, with payment due on or before the 45th day after burial, except that cemetery charges may be billed as required by the cemetery. No greater upgrade may be sold in connection with this contract. This funeral is provided as a package.
That’s an achievement in this world of too casual and disrespectful vs snooty and officious. One of the best things they did for us was a last minute change, pulled off with finesse. No extra charge or even a moment’s pause. PLUS, the family having opted to not have a visitation before the funeral, I personally wanted to see my Dad. I thought I’d be in some dimly lighted side room to say goodbye-bye.
